(Covington, GA - 17 June 2014) A local grassroots group, the Newton Conservative Liberty Alliance
 , is meeting this Thursday evening, June 19, at 7:00 P.M. at Square 
Perk Cafe on the Covington Square to discuss lowering Newton 
County's taxes with the looming budget deadline. The NCLA is asking for 
input from the citizens of Newton County to 
help with its goal of reducing taxes and government spending in Newton 
County. The group will briefly discuss the proposed Hwy 278 Community 
Improvement District (CID) as well. 
 
Also, the alliance will be taking up a collection for the Newton Community Food Pantry and will honor its director, Rosalee Thompson, for her wonderful dedication to helping and feeding Newton's families in need.
