Newton Co. BOC Meeting Tonight at the Historic Covington Courthouse
The
Newton County Board of Commissioners will be meeting this evening,
Tuesday January 21, for their regularly scheduled board meeting. They
meet at the Historic Courthouse on the Covington Square (1124 Clark St.
Covington, GA 30014) at 7PM. You can call the BOC Clerk, Jackie Smith,
at 678.625.1202 to get an agenda and any other pertinent information.
Part of the NCLA's main strategy is trying to remain engaged with our local politicians and acting as local activists and taxpayer advocates. The more of us who attend these meetings, the better. Hope some of you can make it.

December Meeting
We are meeting this Thursday evening, December 12, at 7PM at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church located at 55 Hwy 229 (corner of Hwy 278 and Hwy 229) for our monthly meeting. We're very excited to have Melvin J. Everson as our featured speaker. This meeting will also be our Christmas party.
Mr.
Everson is a political activist who has held elected office in the
Georgia Legislature and the Snellville city council. He served for 23
years in the United States Army on both active and reserve duty and is
currently the Executive Director of the Georgia Commission on Equal
Opportunity. To learn more, please visit his bio at the GCEO website. Mr. Everson is known for giving inspirational, informative, and passionate speeches. You won't want to miss this one!
We will be
collecting toys and canned food items for the needy, so if you can,
please bring one
of those. Also, since this will also be our Christmas party, several of
us will be bringing some light food items and refreshments. Should be a

Local Grassroots Group Meeting This Thursday; Congressional Candidate Jody Hice to Speak
(Covington, GA – 11 November 2013) A local conservative grassroots
group, the Newton Conservative Liberty Alliance, is meeting this
Thursday evening, November 14, at 7PM, at the Mt. Pleasant United
Methodist Church located at 55 Hwy 229 (corner of Hwy 278 and Hwy 229)
for its monthly meeting. The group is very excited to have Jody Hice,
Republican candidate for U.S. House (10th district), as their featured
speaker. Mr. Hice will be discussing the current political climate and
his ideas and solutions for getting things fixed in Washington D.C. Also
speaking to the group will be Stan Edwards, recently announced
Republican candidate for Board of Education District 1. Mr. Edwards will
be discussing his campaign and his vision for education in Newton
County. There will be a Q & A session with each speaker as well.

NCLA Meeting This Thursday Night, October 10, 2013

local conservative grassroots group, the Newton Conservative Liberty Alliance, is meeting this Thursday evening, October 10, at 7PM,
at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church located at 55 Hwy 229 (corner of Hwy 278 and Hwy
229) for its monthly meeting. The group will be discussing recent
political happenings and ways to engage in the political process in
Covington and Newton Co. Stan Edwards, recently
announced Republican candidate for Board of Education District 1, will
be speaking to the group about his campaign and his vision for education
in Newton County. Also speaking to the group will be Washington D.C. policy analyst, blogger & politico, Jason Pye, who will be discussing the federal government shutdown. A social meet and greet will
begin at 6:30 with
the meeting set to start at 7PM . There will be a Q & A session with each speaker as well.

local grassroots group, the Newton Conservative Liberty Alliance, is meeting this Thursday evening, September 12, at 6:30
at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (corner of Hwy 278 and Hwy
229) for its monthly meeting. The group will be discussing recent
political happenings and ways to engage in the political process in
Covington and Newton Co. Jason Pye, a local political blogger, will be discussing how to interact
with elected officials and the best ways to utilize social media. Covington City Councilman Chris Smith will also
be speaking about how citizens can take part in local politics.. A social meet and greet will
begin at 6:30 with
the meeting set to start at 7PM . There will be a Q & A session as well.
Founded earlier this year, the Newton Conservative Libery Alliance is a
grassroots group dedicated to America's founding principles of
freedom and liberty that believes in sound, constitutional governance that holds taxpayer dollars in the highest
regard.
